"mono and no".
Some mono are also replaced with no.
- "mono"

※ No is used to substitute another noun modified by a verb or an adjective,
so when "mono" is defined by a certain modifying word, it can be replaced with "no".
Among previous sentences, sentence a)~e) can be replaced with "no",but f) ~k)can't.
From now on when "mono" is replaced with "no",we'll write "mono/no,
otherwise it can't be replaced with no.
※When "mono" is used as a predicate, it is not replaced with "no"
- ex) 1)Konosara wa itaria de katta mono desu.
- (I bought this plate in Italy.)
- 2) Kore wa yoso e ageru mono dakara, akecha dame yo.
- (This is a present to my friend, so don't unpack it.)
If we say "Kore wa itaria de katta no desu." or "Kore wa yoso e ageru no dakara,
akecha dame yo",the meaning of these sentences are a little different from
sentence 1 and 2.
These "no" are another usage of no.
This kind of "no" is used in giving explanations ,or in eliciting or
confirming imformations,. and added to the end of a clause as "noda" or "nodesu" .
In speech, usually "nda" or "ndesu" is used instead of "noda" or"nodesu".
- ex) Nani ka attan desu ka? (What's the matter?)
- Kare wa hontooni iihito nan desu.( He is really a good person)
※In some sentences when "mono" is replaced with "no", the meaning has changed.
- 3) Onaka ga itai. Kinoo tabeta mono ga waru katta.
- (I have a stomachache.The food I ate yesterday has gone bad.)
- 4) I ga itai. Kinoo tabeta no ga waru katta.
- (I have a stomachache.I shouldn't have eaten yesterday)
You see the difference between sentence 3 and 4. This "no" is used to nominalize
the previous clause.(We told this usage last month.)
This seems to happen , when modifier is rather long and it is not clear
which noun "no" substitute..
