As for the negative form of ( verbs+yoo ni naru) ,both naku naru and nai yoo ni naru can be used, but the former (#1 i-adjective pattern) is commonly used.
You've been learning naru through #1 to #4 above. However, there are na-adjectives,
nouns and verbs that denote change itself. So, you do not have to
use naru with such words. Following sentences (X) show common
mistakes that Japanese learners often make. (O) shows a possible
correct expression respectively.
X isashiburini ii eiga o mite manzoku ni naru.
- O Hisashiburini ii eiga o mite manzoku da. (or manzokushita)
(I'm satisfied to see such a good movie that I haven't seen for a long time.)
X Watashi no kuni wa 30 (sanjyuu) nen mae ni dokuritsu ni natta.
- O Watashi no kuni wa 30 nen mae nidokuritsushita.
(My country became independent 30 years ago.)
X Nihon no seikatsu ni nareru yoo ni natta.
- O Nihon no seikatsu ni nareta. (or naretekita)
(I've got used to living in Japan.)
X Kaisha o kubi ni natte komaru yoo ni narimashita.
- O Kaisha o kubi ni natte komarimashita. (or komatteimasu)
(I've been in difficulties since I was fired.)
X Omoi byooki o shite karada ga yowaru yoo ni narimashita.
- O Omoi byooki o shite karada ga yowaku narimashita.
(I've got weak since I suffered from a severe sickness.)
X Minna ga tetsudatte kureru node tasukaru yoo ni narimashita.
- O Minna ga tetsudatte kureru node tasukarimasu.
(It is very helpful of you all to give me a hand.)
You've learned much about naru that indicates change in state, but it might
be so difficult for you to understand as today's lesson contains expressions peculiar in Japanese.
